Sixth Laser Hair Removal Treatment
This was great news to me because there was a single hair which grew higher than the rest that was frequently skipped. She was very through, not a piece of flesh went un-zapped. She even had me spread apart my labia so everything was treated. Driving home was a horrible experience. I had worn loose cotton pants, but they felt like heavy wool on my freshly lasered skin. I actually had to undo my pants and pull them down to my knees for the ride home (hopefully no truckers had a free show). It was as though my bikini area was being held against a hot iron! I kept fanning it and hoping it wouldn’t blister. As soon as I got home I slathered on some aloe-vera. Surprisingly my skin looked fine. There were some red dots, but no blistering. All of the redness went away in 24 hours. Hopefully I’ll see some great results from this treatment. It was my 6th laser hair removal treatment and many clinics say all you need for permanent hair removal is six treatments.
A Month Later - 9-25-07 It has been a month since my last laser hair removal treatment, and I am not happy with the results on my upper lip. My bikini and underarms are smooth and hair free, but above my upper lip the hair has grown in long, dark and ugly. I am so tired of it. I thought that there would be some noticeable results by now. I guess I should be happy that the laser treatments have been very effective on my bikini area and underarms. The main reason I wanted laser hair removal was for the embarrassing upper lip hairs. I hate them. I’m sure every women who has ever waxed, tweezed, shaved or Nair-ed their upper lip feels the same way. It is just so unattractive! I’m a woman and I have more hair growth than my stupid chia pet! I really hope that those of you who are reading this can understand my frustration. I mean I know it’s not the end of the world. I know I can shave it. I know there are other options, but I just want to cry. I am so tired of it, and it seems to be getting worse. I’ve noticed more hair on my face. I see my side burns getting darker, longer, fuller! The side burns have mutated into long cartoon like facial hair that trails down my face to connect with my lips. I’ve also noticed more dark hair around my nipples. In fact my entire breasts are covered with peach fuzz that is a little too long and thick to be considered peach fuzz! URGH! I just want to be hair free! . . . at least my upper lip. On a positive note: my underarms and bikini area haven’t had any hair growth since the sixth laser treatment.
Eleven Weeks After 6th Treatment, 11-4-07 It has been 11 weeks since my last laser hair removal appointment. I haven’t had a boom in hair growth as I expected. Maybe the laser hair removal is actual working. My upper lip still has a lot of hair, but my bikini area and underarms hardly have any hair. I haven’t shaved my underarms or bikini area since the last laser appointment. If I look closely at my underarms I can see the hair, but it is very soft and light. This next appointment will be my seventh laser hair removal appointment. Some experts and laser hair removal centers say that you only need 6 appointments for effective results. I am glad that my center gives you 8 treatments, because I am not satisfied with the results yet. Maybe if the first two treatments weren’t at such low settings my progress would have been further along by now. Fortunately Ideal Image has a one year guarantee policy, so even if I have hair growth after the last treatment I can have free touch ups. Although my underarms have the least amount of hair growth I am most impressed with my bikini area. There is very little hair in the outer areas, and the hair in the inner most area is very soft. I have had some ingrown hairs, but nothing too painful. I don’t need to shave to wear a bikini, and that is the most important thing. Overall I am very satisfied with my results from laser hair removal. At this point I would highly recommend laser hair removal for friends and family with light skin and dark hair. I don’t know if I would recommend it for facial hair though. I am still wondering if electrolysis is the best way to go for upper lip hair.
